Nico Davis Drops Dreamy New Single "Cherry"

Nico Davis' new track "Cherry" continues where he left off on his debut EP, Head in the Clouds. Nico's deep baritone blends wonderfully with the mellow, chill background in this latest track. The lyrics are sweet and exude a charming sense of innocence, making the song a clever yet straightforward reference to unrequited love.

The production for "Cherry" is a masterclass in Lofi pop and trip-hop, with dreamy Rhodes pianos and bleeping synthesizers swirling around booming hip-hop drums and deep sub-bass. The song was created in collaboration with Chris Baldarrago, guitarist for NJ bands Kiaura Rose and Shark Earrings, and Selena Becerra on backing vocals. The end effect is a rich, downtempo soul sound that is both engaging and comforting.

The track's attraction is enhanced by Sara Grunblatt's stunning artwork, which wonderfully captures the song's melancholy and lovelorn vibe. Nico Davis is inspired by a wide range of genres and musicians, including hip-hop luminaries J Dilla, Nujabes, and Madlib, electronic geniuses James Blake, Kaytranada, and Jamie XX, and alt R&B sensations Steve Lacy, Frank Ocean, and Jai Paul.

As Nico continues to carve out his niche in the music industry, fans can expect more new releases throughout the summer. His next single, "Margarita," is set to be released at the end of July, providing another exhibition of his talent and range.

Nico Davis' "Cherry" is now available on all major streaming platforms.
