Life On Thin Ice Reveals Experimental EP "As Days Went By"

Life On Thin Ice, Kirill Yurchev's one-man electronic headquartered in Cyprus, has produced a gripping new EP "As Days Went By." This four-track EP takes listeners on a sonic voyage spanning electronic, experimental, and trip-hop genres, highlighting Yurchev's distinct musical interests and ability to transcend traditional genre limits.

Kirill Yurchev's musical adventure began in Moscow before he moved to the United Kingdom at twelve. His extensive musical experience includes stints in bands ranging from stoner metal to funk. During the 2020 lockdowns, Yurchev focused on solo songwriting and recording, drawing inspiration from 90s WARP Records, 70s American funk, 80s punk, and modern musicians such as Nicholas Jaar.

The EP begins with "Greenfield (On Fire)," a slow-burning piece that resembles the ambient sounds of Boards of Canada with its IDM and trip-hop combination. "Brainstoppers" is a noteworthy track, merging machine-timed electric beats with Yurchev's melodic guitar sample to create an exhilarating nightclub mood. Adding a psy-op video for "Brainstoppers" heightens the track's immersive experience.

"As Days Went By" was meticulously mixed by Marcus Papageorgiou of AV Playroom Studios in Cyprus and mastered by Vlad Isaev, aka Scann-Tec, who used creative approaches to push the boundaries of sound. The record cover, which Yurchev photographed and edited, captures the EP's artistic concept.

Life On Thin Ice's "As Days Went By" demonstrates Kirill Yurchev's creative aptitude and ability to create fascinating, genre-defying music. The EP is now accessible across all major streaming platforms, providing listeners with a unique and immersive musical experience.
